                  Volunteering
Teenagers and adults with mental and physical handicaps enjoy the warmth and attention of our dedicated volunteers – the volunteers of TRY. At TRY, one of the best-kept secrets in North Hills, we fulfill the social and recreational needs of the mentally retarded, ages 13 and up. And we have been successful in doing so since 1970. Numerous programs as well as loyal supporters are the reasons why TRY works so well. Fun Night, Summer and Winter Athletic days, the Hayride and other events bring us all together for dance, sports and other social interactions. Craft Night promotes a source of pride and improves dexterity with woodworking and “soft” craft prefects. Prepare yourself for the most enlightening experience of all…our annual one-week day camp. As always, Participants get free transportation to our facilities where Athletics, Arts & Crafts, Award Ceremonies and Lunches await them.

Unbelievably, there are no costs go any of our participants. All of our services, all of our dedication, and all of our fun, food and good times are free. Join us now as we try to help those who mean so much to us.
Because we have no paid employees, we rely entirely on the efforts of volunteers to accomplish our mission. We have dedicated volunteers that have worked with TRY, and some have been with TRY since 1970. We especially encourage high school students to participate, especially with our Day Camp. We need volunteers that can help on a one on one basis.
